Support
We read everything that arrives.
The fastest way to reach us is the Maal Community on WhatsApp. Tell us what happened, what you expected instead, and which device you are on — that is usually enough for us to find it. It is also where features get suggested and the next release gets argued over.

Where is my data kept?
On your phone, in the app's own private storage. Maal has no account system and no servers — nothing you enter is ever uploaded. The privacy policy covers this in full.
Will I lose everything if I change phones?
Because your data lives only on the device, moving to a new phone does not carry it across on its own. If your device backup (iCloud Backup, or Google's backup on Android) is switched on, restoring that backup onto the new phone normally brings the app's data with it. If it is switched off, the data does not survive the move.
Can I try it without entering my real finances?
Yes. Settings has a Load sample data option that fills the app with a made-up household's three months of accounts, budgets, debts and goals, so you can see how every screen behaves before typing anything real. You can erase it all again from the same screen.
Which currencies does it handle?
All the Gulf and wider regional currencies, and the ones with three decimal places — Kuwaiti dinar, Bahraini dinar, Omani rial, Jordanian dinar, Iraqi dinar, Libyan dinar and Tunisian dinar — are handled at their true precision rather than rounded to two. You can set a main currency and still hold accounts in others.
How do I switch to Arabic?
Settings → language. The whole interface mirrors right-to-left, and numbers and dates follow the language you have chosen.
Does it connect to my bank?
No. Maal never asks for banking credentials and has no connection to any bank. You enter what you want it to know. That is deliberate: an app that cannot reach your bank cannot leak your bank.
Why does it ask for my photos?
Only when you tap to add a logo, a card design or a picture for a savings goal. The image you choose is copied into the app and stays there. Decline the permission and everything else still works.
Reporting a bug or asking for a feature
Post it in the Maal Community, where other people may have hit the same thing and can say so. Screenshots help more than anything else — and since nothing you send us is collected automatically, a description of what you were doing is genuinely the only way we can know.
